Fear - Fear Modified: Part 4 of 9

Preview: This is the fourth in a series of nine lessons entitled: FEAR.


Scripture Reading: Philippians 1:8-28.

Memory Verse: Philippians 1:29.

1. Do we see from the foregoing Scripture Reading and Memory Verse how our bonds of affliction in Christ tend to give boldness to others if we keep a right attitude?
2. Did Zechariah prophesy concerning a modification of fear? Luke 1:67-75.
Note: Zechariah foretold the coming of Christ, who would expel fear. Our Scripture Reading and Memory Verse points out how Paul, through a right relationship with God, had no fear for his life. We also can be free from fear when we are in Christ.
3. What were Paul’s instructions to the Church at Corinth concerning their acceptance and care for young Timothy? I Corinthians 16:7-11.
Note: The Church should be very careful that it shows no disrespect for its youth or those who are still babes in Christ. Let us love and encourage one another.
4. What are the evil leaders called who teach others to practice sin? Jude 1:4-5 & Jude 1:10-13.
5. Do they have reason to fear the judgment of God? Jude 1:14-16.
6. What did Jude instruct us to do? Jude 1:17-25.
7. Is there a time to fear and even take action? Acts 23:7-10 & Acts 23:12-24.
8. Why was Paul not fearful through his experience? Acts 23:11.
Note: The leaders feared for Paul’s life and took action to protect him, but Paul had no fear; his trust was in God. He had reassurance that his work was not finished.
9. Would it be safe to say that the same kind of reverence that wives should have for their husbands is the same type of fear that Herod had for John the Baptist? Ephesians 5:33 & Mark 6:20.
Note: Each seems to be a reverent fear based on respect, however, if it is to endure, it must be coupled with love!
10. Under what condition can we dwell without fear of evil? Proverbs 1:33.
Note: When we hear and obey God we can live with a spirit of peace.
