Preview: A study of how, why, and when we should witness for God. This is the tenth lesson in a thirteen-part series on this subject.

Pre-reading: Hebrews 13:5-18.

Scripture Reading: I Timothy 1:8-17.

Memory Verse: Romans 5:8.

1. Is the plan of salvation for all sinners according to the foregoing Scripture Reading and Memory Verse?
Note: When one to whom you are witnessing fears that his sin is too great to be forgiven, share Paul’s testimony with him. Had man not been lost in sin, there would not have been a need for a redeemer.
2. How did Jesus explain this? Luke 19:10 & Matthew 18:11-14.
3. How can we answer those who will not commit themselves to Christ because they are afraid they will fail? Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 41:13, II Thessalonians 3:3, II Thessalonians 3:5 & I Corinthians 10:13.
Note: It is not our goodness or strength that enables us to stand steadfast, it is God who is able to keep us from falling. But we must commit ourselves to Him.
4. How does one make this commitment? I Corinthians 10:14, II Timothy 1:7-8 & II Timothy 1:11-14.
5. What encouragement can we offer sinners who fear that they are too weak or unworthy to come to Christ? Isaiah 40:29-31 & Psalm 119:9-11.
6. What was Paul’s testimony concerning his own experience? II Corinthians 12:9-10 & Philippians 4:13.
7. What encouraging words did Peter write? I Peter 5:8-10.
Note: Peter did not promise us that we would not have problems once we committed our life to God. He did say that Christ in us will establish, strengthen, and settle us, and eventually bring us to perfection.
8. How can we answer those who are afraid of persecution and ridicule? II Timothy 3:12, II Timothy 3:14 & Matthew 5:10-12.
9. What is the fate of those who reject Him? Mark 8:35-38 & II Timothy 2:12.
10. Who is man’s only source of help and hope? Hebrews 12:2-3 & Hebrews 12:5-8.
Note: As long as one is concerned with man’s opinion and approval he cannot look to Jesus who is the beginning and end of our faith.
