Preview: An introduction to the God of Creation; the only true God. This is the thirteenth part of a thirteen-part series of lessons on this subject.

Pre-reading: Deuteronomy 4:31-40, Deuteronomy 9:1-7 & Isaiah 43:1-28.

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 33:1-16.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 44:21.

1. Can we conclude from the foregoing Scripture Reading and Memory Verse that God will always be faithful to His promise to Abraham and his descendants (Israel)?
2. Did David believe that God’s covenant to Israel would be forever and ever? Psalm 94:14, Psalm 105:8, Psalm 105:42 & Psalm 106:44-48.
3. Did Isaiah understand that God’s covenant was forever? Isaiah 42:16, Isaiah 43:1-8, Isaiah 44:18, Isaiah 44:21, & Isaiah 49:5-8 & Isaiah 49:26.
Note: God revealed to Isaiah that Israel would be blinded to the truth for a season because of their wickedness and disobedience; but He declared that He would not forget them.
4. How did Paul affirm this truth? Romans 11:1-5 & Romans 11:7-8.
5. How did their blindness benefit the Gentiles? Romans 11:10-15.
6. How did Paul explain Israel’s return to God? Romans 11:16-24.
Note: He makes it very clear that the nation Israel who has been blinded in part (concerning Christ) can be grafted back into the household of faith, even easier than the Gentiles. But all, both Jew and Gentile, must come to God the Father through Jesus Christ the Son.
7. When will Israel be able to recognize Christ as their long awaited Messiah? Romans 11:25-32.
Note: They were blinded until the Gentiles could be reconciled to God. Because God does not break His covenant, He will re-gather and restore all that is left of Israel, and they will be saved.
8. Did Paul say that this would be difficult for some to understand? Romans 11:33-36 & Colossians 1:25-28.
9. How do the Gentiles receive the covenant made to Abraham and his seed? Galatians 3:14 & Galatians 3:29.
10. How is this covenant fulfilled according to the apostles? Luke 1:54-55, Luke 1:68-78 & Acts 13:32-33.
Note: There is no salvation apart from Jesus.
