Preview: This lesson begins a three-lesson arc that will attempt to apply the Gospel to the Christian’s part in warfare, temporal and spiritual. Admittedly in regard to temporal warfare, there are some things that are difficult to answer, but let’s study the lessons.


Scripture Reading: II Timothy 4:1-8.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:11.

1. What will happen to soldiers who fight with carnal weapons? Matthew 26:51-52.
2. What did John the Baptist say about this type of warfare? Luke 3:14.
3. Is there a way of murdering without actually killing? I John 3:15.
4. What Commandment forbids murder? Exodus 20:13.
5. How should a soldier for Christ fight? Ephesians 6:13-17.
6. How did Paul fight as a soldier and veteran for Christ? II Timothy 2:24-26.
7. What did Paul accomplish? II Timothy 4:7-8.
8. What are the requirements of a soldier? II Timothy 2:3-4.
9. What are the causes of war and fighting among people? James 4:1-3.
10. What are some of the things that hinder our warfare? James 3:14-16.
Note: In this day of grace God has separated civil government from religious government. As children of God our work is to help save mankind physically and spiritually while remaining true to our government. We are fortunate that our American government has recognized this factor and made provision for it.
11. For what should we pray? Matthew 6:10.
