Heavenly Treasure

Preview: What is precious to God is not always considered precious to man. We need to remember that we belong to God, and everything that we are and everything we have belongs to Him. We cannot hold onto the things of this world and expect to find salvation with the Lord.


Scripture Reading: James 5:1-11.

Memory Verse: Luke 18:22.

1. Where are we instructed to lay our treasures? Matthew 6:19-20.
2. How will we know where our treasure is? Matthew 6:21.
3. Does our Father know what we need? Matthew 6:30-31.
4. What parable did Jesus give about a certain rich man? Luke 12:16-19.
5. What did God say to him? Luke 12:20-21.
Note: In this story we found the mistake the rich man made. Why was he called a fool? People today may just as easily make the same mistake. We must fight the temptation to let things we own come between us and God.

7. What will happen to us if we grudge one against another? James 5:9.
8. What will the treasures of wickedness profit? Proverbs 10:2.
9. Does a foolish man spend his treasure? Proverbs 21:20.
10. Is it easy for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven? Luke 18:25.
11. What will we follow after if our treasure is in Heaven? Romans 8:5.
12. What did Jesus tell the rich man to do in order to have treasure in Heaven? Mark 10:21.
Note: Our money will not be a danger to us if we recognize that God made it possible for us to have it. Remembering that will cause us to want to use our money wisely and give much of it to Christ.
