Promises to the Christians

Preview: God has made and kept many promises to His children over the course of history. He does not promise lightly, and there is an expectation from Him for us to perform our duty before the promise can be earned.


Scripture Reading: Psalm 91:1-16.

Memory Verse: Psalm 37:3.

1. What is God’s promise to the poor and brokenhearted? Psalm 34:18, Isaiah 66:2.
2. What will He do when Christians are tempted? I Corinthians 10:13, Hebrews 2:18.
3. God did not promise to prevent problems. What did He promise? Psalm 34:19, Isaiah 43:2.

Note: God’s promises are sure. II Peter 3:9 states: “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness…”. Many of His promises have already been fulfilled; therefore, we can with confidence look forward to the fulfillment of the others.
