Preview: Christ made a great sacrifice to allow His children the chance of eternal life. This lesson helps us to appreciate the sacrifice He made for us.

1. The Bible states that all have sinned (Romans 3:23). What is necessary for our cleansing? Hebrews 9:22.
2. Could just any blood suffice for our atonement? Explain. Hebrews 10:3-6.
3. Who was the only acceptable sacrifice? I Peter 1:18-20.
4. I Corinthians 6:20 states that we are bought with a price. What was that price? Isaiah 53:4-7, Mark 15:15-20.
5. Was Jesus aware of the agony involved in a crucifixion? What did He do to find the strength to go through with it? Luke 22:41-44.
6. For how long and to what extent had the thought of being crucified bothered Jesus? John 12:23-27.
7. Were Jesus’ disciples a source of comfort to Him in His hour of need? What happened? Matthew 26:36-45, Matthew 26:56, Matthew 26:69-75.
8. What further added to Jesus’ suffering? Matthew 27:46. Do you think He had expected to be forsaken by His Father?
9. What possible reason would there be that would cause God to turn His back on His Son? II Corinthians 5:21.
10. What should be our reaction as we realize the terrible price that was required to purchase our redemption? I Corinthians 6:20, I Corinthians 7:23, I Peter 3:14-18, I Peter 2:21-24.
