Preview: This lesson is of extreme importance to all who believe that the Ten Commandment Law was done away with when Christ died on the cross. Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-13.

Memory Verse: Hebrews 10:1.

1. What did Christ do with the law which demanded circumcision? What was that law? Ephesians 2:14-15.
Note: The Ten Commandment Law did not demand circumcision, but the commandments contained in the law of ordinances did demand this work of the flesh. (See Leviticus 12:1-3). Christ abolished the law of ordinances, not the Ten Commandment Law.
2. What matter was Paul confronted with when he took Barnabas and Titus with him to Jerusalem? Galatians 2:1-5.
3. Why did Paul rebuke Peter at Antioch? Galatians 2:11-13.
4. What did Paul say about the law which demanded circumcision while rebuking Peter? Galatians 2:14-16.
Note: There is no salvation in the works of the flesh demanded by the law of ordinances was Paul’s message by letter to the Galatians. He introduced his message wisely by telling them of the Gospel he proclaimed in Jerusalem and Antioch. Then he rebuked them with the same doctrine.
5. Did Paul rebuke the Galatians for following the law Christ abolished? Galatians 3:1-7.
6. Was Paul talking about the law written on tables of stone or the law written in a book? Galatians 3:10.
7. Who gave the law that Paul was talking about? Deuteronomy 27:11 & Deuteronomy 27:26.
8. Who redeemed us from the law that was a curse to man? Galatians 3:11-14.
9. Did Christ end the Ten Commandment Law or the law of ordinances? Romans 10:4-5 & Leviticus 18:4-5.
Note: Paul identified the law which Christ abolished when he quoted from the law of ordinances recorded in the 18th chapter of Leviticus.
